Who I am

Background

I was first introduced to writing code when I had to take an Intro to Computer Science class as part of my Electrical Engineering major at the University of California, Riverside. I immediately fell in love and switched my major. The curriculum mostly focused on C++, data structures and algorithms and I also took some classes in Networks, Operating Systems, Databases and more.

Despite the great education I was getting at UCR, I felt like there was so much more to learn. So I started teaching myself HTML, CSS, and JavaScript--just enough to learn how to develop and sell Google Chrome Extensions. My extensions reached thousands of users and I developed a passion for creating beautiful, user-friendly applications.

Currently

For 5 years at MZ Game Studios, I developed UIs for some of the biggest mobile games ever including Game of War and Final Fantasy. Recently the company restructured and my position was impacted. I took the opportunity to update my knowledge by taking the App Academy course again but self-paced. Upon finishing the course, I revamped my original Chillflix project which highlights my new skills and knowledge in the field.

In my work experience and personal projects, I've solidified the idea that I love developing content pixel-perfect to the specs. I really enjoy working with React/Redux to create responsive web pages with predictable state. Now I'm currently seeking Full-Stack/Frontend Developer roles in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Leisure

When I'm not writing code, you can catch me doing all sorts of things. Some of my hobbies include photography, drawing photo-realistic portraits, watching all the shows and movies I can like The Office and Game of Thrones, and training my dream dog--my Miniature Bull Terrier, Chance!
